We're migrating our program online and will expand upon what we currently do on Skype with our Distance Learning format. You don't have to be in Burbank to gain from our lessons. THE ANIMATION ACADEMY is a vocational training program and character based concept studio. We help artists develop professional skills as they apply to animation and related fields as well as personal creative projects. Our classes are offered year round and we accept new students each month for our sessions in Burbank.

DISTANCE LEARNING in CHARACTER DESIGN 1 is available through Skype. Flexible scheduling and one on one instruction. Master Class training. Each session is one hour in length. There are 6 scheduled weekly sessions. Fee is $495. Contact the Academy if you'd like to enroll.

Makeup classes for CD1 for Semester 23.2a are April 20 and May 18 2020.

Tuesdays - 7:00 to 9:00 PM - Semester 23.2 ( March 3 - In progress to April 21 2020 )

Makeup classes for CD1 for Semester 23.2 are March 24 and April 21 2020.

Bonus / Makeup classes for the Advanced Classes for Semester 23.2a are April 20 and 21 / May 18 and 19 2020.

Each semester lasts for six paid sessions over two months with students renewing every other month when they continue in our program. There are two makeup session scheduled at the end of each month. Students with perfect attendance may come in to one of the monthly makeup sessions as a bonus class.

New Student Enrollment - $495 if payment is made by the due date. New Students are requested to submit samples of their work to assess their artistic level prior to enrollment.

Current Returning Students - $395 if currently enrolled and continuing within the program.

Returning Students - $395 if not currently attending class but previously enrolled within the past year. After a year fee will be same as New Student - $495.

Teen Students must be at least 16 years of age and submit samples of their artwork. An 18 year old student is considered an Adult Student. In certain instances we consider the enrollment of students younger than 16. In all cases regarding students younger than 18 years we require an on site meeting - ONSITE CLASS SESSIONS POSTPONED - with at least one parent or guardian as well as the potential student prior to enrollment. In some situations involving distant learning through our online sessions we would ask to meet with the student on Skype prior to enrollment.

All prospective students should have samples of their work ready for review.

Class fee must be paid in full for confirmation of enrollment. Class size is very limited and is based upon a first come first serve system upon confirmed enrollment. Please make sure your fee is paid to ensure your seat in class.

The lead instructor for the Academy's program is Charles Zembillas. He is supported by a dedicated and experienced staff that specializes in the Academy's curriculum.

Our program begins with classes in Character Design I. Class fee reflects price for enrollment in one class conducted once per week for the duration of the semester. An additional weekly session may be added at the Currently Enrolled Student fee.

Upon completion of Character Design 1 students may continue with a choice of courses including Character Design II, Character Design III, Visual Development, Background Design, StorySketch / Storyboarding and Character Animation. There are advanced levels of each subject.

Our courses are geared towards developing fundamental artistic skills through an animation oriented venue. The Animation Academy is renowned for its training in Character Design, Production Design and Development, Concept Development and Intellectual Property Development. Our classes are workshop based and our students make great progress with their art.

The Animation Academy's prerequisite policy is strictly adhered to. A waiver of any prerequisite will be left solely to the discretion of The Animation Academy.

The Animation Academy is not obligated to offer makeup classes although we make a reasonable attempt at arranging for makeups. Students are entirely responsible for their class attendance. Request for a makeup class will not be honored after the completion of the semester that the student is enrolled in.

Only enrolled students who have paid their fee may attend class sessions. Observation / assessing of a class is not permitted.

Class supply lists will be made available at the first session.

Come to the first session of class with basic materials and be ready to draw.
